SUMMARY:Bird Walk for the Great Backyard Bird Count
DESCRIPTION:The Great Backyard Bird Count is an invaluable bird census conducted largely by non-scientists each February.  Learn how to take part in this international event by joining us for a bird walk at Prairie Ridge!  We’ll teach you how to collect data for the GBBC as we go for a slow walk around Prairie Ridge and see what birds we can find. Binoculars will be provided. \nThis program is for ages 12 and up. Please dress for the weather\, as this program is entirely outdoors. No preregistration necessary. Downloading the Merlin Bird ID app (free) will be helpful but isn’t necessary. We will meet at the green gate near the entrance kiosks.

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we open your eyes to the wonderful world of nature through a family-friendly\, nature-filled storytime. We’ll begin by sharing a story in both English and Spanish in the Nature PlaySpace Amphitheater at 10:30am\, and will then head to other areas of Prairie Ridge as we explore natural themes from each day’s stories in a hands-on\, interactive manner. As we explore\, we’ll learn how to say a few words relating to the day’s theme in Spanish! \nThis is a free program beginning at 10:30am. Come dressed for the weather and prepared to take a walk! Most walks will be stroller friendly.
