SUMMARY:Purple Martin Nest Checks
DESCRIPTION:Purple martins return each spring to Prairie Ridge to nest and raise their young. While they are here\, each week we check on the nests and record their progress through a citizen science project called NestWatch. Join us for a special program focused on these beautiful birds and learn how to safely check and record data on birds’ nests. We will have a guest ornithologist with us to help answer any questions. \nThis program is for adults. No preregistration necessary. We will be out in the open sun so please dress for the weather — a hat and sunscreen are recommended. Also\, please wear closed-toed shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. We will meet outside the classroom building\, a short walk down the gravel path from the parking lot.
