DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided walking tour of this month’s StoryTrail – Winter Critters of Prairie Ridge! Staff will meet participants just inside the entrance gates at the first page of the trail before leading folks on a guided walk of the trail\, stopping to share natural history information throughout your journey! \nPlease wear closed-toed shoes that can get muddy\, appropriate dress for the weather\, and bring a water bottle. Trails are mulch\, dirt\, or grass and small hills are included — trail strollers or baby carriers are recommended for our smallest visitors. \nNot able to join us for a guided walk? SUMMARY:Art of Science: Birds and Loom Knitting
DESCRIPTION:The Art of Science series is for adults who like to blend science and art. Each program will include hands-on experience with a citizen science project paired with an associated art project. Participants will take home their project and tools so they can make additional projects on their own.\n\n\n\nIn this program\, we will explore birds before we make loom-knitted owl character hats! Instructions for collecting and submitting bird data and making your hat will be provided during the program — no experience required. Your program fee covers all the supplies you’ll need to make one hat on site and enough materials so you can make one more on your own at home. \nPre-registration is required for this in-person program for adults and there is a fee to attend ($18 members; $20 non-members). Please register here. \nThis program will be conducted entirely outdoors\, at least partly in an unheated covered space exposed to the outdoors. Please come prepared for a short walk over uneven terrain by wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes and dressing for the weather. Long pants\, a wide-brimmed hat\, and sunscreen are recommended for our citizen science data collecting time.

Join us at the Prairie Ridge firepit for an evening of nature storytelling around the fire!
