DESCRIPTION:Get to know the trees in the Jesse P. Perry III Arboretum at Prairie Ridge! We will walk 1–2 miles\, dive into basic details of identification and learn interesting facts about roughly ten trees per session. \nThis program welcomes ages 13+ and requires registration.  All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout our time together. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Meet at the entrance kiosk. \nNot able to join us this month? SUMMARY:Nature Journaling Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a nature journaling scavenger hunt around Prairie Ridge! As explorers and young scientists\, honing our observation skills is a great way to see more of the nature around you – and nature journaling is a great tool to help with that! Through our nature journals we’ll go on a journey of exploration as we look for the little details around us and document our finds in our journals. \nThis is a free program beginning at 10:30am in the Outdoor Classroom (a short walk down the gravel road from the parking lot). Please register here so we know how many nature journals we’ll need! Participants will receive a nature journal and will then embark on an exciting nature-themed scavenger hunt. Come dressed for the weather and prepared to take a walk. This program is designed for children ages 3 to 10 and includes a walk on grass- and gravel-covered paths.
