After a picnic lunch at the Weymouth Woods Tract\, we will visit the virgin longleaf pine in the Boyd Tract\, including the oldest longleaf pine known. \nPlease note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact\, physician contact and health information (allergies\, conditions\, medications relevant to this field experience). DESCRIPTION:Love seeing butterflies flitting around the flowers? Ever wonder about their names or how many there are? This program will introduce you to North Carolina’s wild butterflies\, how to identify them and how to become a citizen scientist butterfly monitor for the Carolinas Butterfly Monitoring Program. \nPre-registration is required for this free in-person program. Please register online here. \nThis program is intended for adults and will be conducted entirely outdoors. Please come prepared for a walk of up to a mile over uneven terrain by wearing sturdy\, closed-toed shoes and dressing for the weather. Long pants\, a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen are recommended.
