DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a bird walk! We’ll go for a slow walk around Prairie Ridge and see what birds we can find. Binoculars will be provided. \nThis program is for ages 8 and up\, families welcome. Please wear closed toed shoes and dress for the weather. Downloading the Merlin app (free) will be helpful but not necessary. We will meet at the front gate.

SUMMARY:Gardening for Wildlife Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Want to do your part for the planet and transform your yard into a haven for wildlife? Join us to learn more about gardening with native plants and do-it-yourself features to provide shelter\, water\, and nesting places for birds and other wildlife. This outdoor\, hands-on\, three-hour program is designed for both newbie and experienced gardeners\, and includes native plants to take home to get you started! Completion of this program gains Environmental Education certification credit in Criteria II or III. \nThis program requires pre-registration and costs $20 for NC Museum of Natural Sciences members and $25 for non-members. Register online here  This program is for ages 18+. Please arrive at Prairie Ridge ready to be outdoors: dressed for the weather\, wearing closed-toed shoes\, and with a filled water bottle. We will be outdoors the entire length of the program.  Meet your class at the Outdoor Classroom\, a short 3–5 minute walk from the parking lot. \nCOVID-19 Safety Update:\nClasses will follow current state and federal health guidelines and apply a range of safety measures to mitigate health risks. Masks are currently optional for program guests.
