DESCRIPTION:Join us at Historic Yates Mill County Park for a morning “almost fall” hike on several of their trails near the millpond.  The last operating 18th century water-powered grist mill in Wake County is the historic backdrop as we explore the forests and other areas near the millpond to observe the plants\, animals and fungi that may be present.   \nPlease note: You will be required to enter the following information for each registrant before you can complete your registration: emergency contact\, physician contact and health information (allergies\, conditions\, medications relevant to this field experience). DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder what insects you’re seeing? Or where’s the best place to look for ladybugs? Come take a walk with us\, and we’ll learn to identify some of the insects at Prairie Ridge\, and show you the best places to find some of your favorites! \nThis program is for ages 8 and up\, families welcome. Please dress for the weather and wear closed toed shoes – hat and sunscreen are recommended. We will meet at the entrance kiosk.  No registration necessary. \n\n“Be a Scientist” programs are specifically geared towards children ages 8 and up and their families\, helping our youth gain knowledge and experience exploring nature and conducting citizen science! \n\n
