DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn more about the in and outs of a career in the STEAM field. During this first program\, we will meet Michael Lewis\, Education Coordinator for the “RACE: Are We So Different?” exhibit at NCMNS. \nRegister Now!\nProfessional Previews is a new program series that will feature guest professionals with diverse backgrounds\, experiences and expertise in STEAM fields. This session’s speaker is Michael Lewis! \nMichael (He/Him) was born and raised in Goldsboro\, NC. He is a graduate of NC State University\, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a cross-discipline in Public Science Education & Outreach\, as well as a Master’s of Education with a concentration in Informal STEM Education. \nHe developed a love for outreach and connecting to underrepresented populations through science education during his first year of college and has been pursuing that passion since then. He first started out as an intern at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in 2017\, but now he is the Education Coordinator for “RACE: Are We So Different?” \n\nProfessional previews will take place on Zoom. Programs are recorded and registrants can access previous topics. \nWe recommend this program for middle school and up\, but all ages are welcome. Parents and teachers are invited to participate with their children or students.

Then\, enjoy a sneak peek of Life Before Dinosaurs: The Permian Monsters special exhibition before it opens to the public on May 14. \nLecture begins at 6pm in the WRAL 3D Theater.
