DESCRIPTION:Everyone’s favorite arthropod to hate is hitting the big screen this month at the Museum. If you ABSOLUTELY love spiders or if you are terrified of them and need some exposure therapy\, this is the event for you! \nJoin us at our August Museum Movie Night: Where Science Meets the Cinema\, where we will be featuring the 1960 West German horror film\,”Horrors of Spider Island.” Nick Allen\, Curator of the Museum’s Arthropod Zoo\, will be our expert on all things arachnid to answer your questions and teach us more about the film’s terrifying villain: the spider. After the show\, stick around for movie trivia with the AV Geek. \n  \n\n\n\nDo you love movies? Want to know the science behind your favorite stories? Join our monthly watch party\, “Museum Movie Night\, where Science meets the Cinema”! We encourage you to sit in your favorite chair\, enjoy your favorite snacks\, and stream alone or with your friends and family! \nREGISTER HERE \nWe’ll host experts from different science backgrounds to separate science fact from fiction after each film. You can ask them questions\, share your knowledge\, and enhance your movie night experience! \nStep 1: Register on this page. We will email you a Zoom link with everything you need to know. \nStep 2: Step 2: At 6 pm on August 27 \, log into Zoom using the link you receive upon registration. We’ll present a short from the AV Geeks’ archive and prepare you for the movie. \nStep 3: Let’s start the movie! We will be streaming the movie within Zoom. Join the live chat while you stream. (No spoilers please!) \nStep 4: After the film\, we’ll chat with our science expert in a Q&A session where we’ll learn about the science behind the film.
