DESCRIPTION:Help Prairie Ridge staff celebrate the culmination of Invasive Species Awareness Week by joining us for a Weed Out Day – a community effort to eradicate invasive plant species from our landscape! From pulling stiltgrass and blackberry to removing privet trees\, we’ll stay active and move around the site as we learn to identify some of the invasive plants present at Prairie Ridge\, understand their impact on the landscape\, and work to remove some of these pesky non-native species. \nThis program will begin at 10am outside of the Outdoor Classroom (located down the gravel path from the main entrance). From there\, we’ll split into groups and head out to tackle our invasive plants! We will have tools and gardening gloves to borrow. If you plan to bring your own pair of gardening gloves or hand tools\, please ensure everything is labeled so it returns home with you. \nQuestions? Email Emma at emma.blackford@naturalsciences.org
