Did you know that the Eastern Box Turtle is North Carolina’s state reptile? It’s one of the most unusual animals in our state and there are many scientists in North Carolina studying them. Join us for this virtual program to meet Sara Steffen and hear about her work with the Box Turtle Connection! Learn about box turtles and how scientists study them in the wild. You’ll also learn how kids in grade K–8 can earn prizes and badges as they help scientists learn about the natural world by participating in the ecoEXPLORE citizen science program.

This program is geared toward children in grades K–8 and their families, but all are welcome!
