Take a walk back in time and explore the evolution of the immune system. We’ll talk through the history of the evolutionary race between hosts and pathogens, learn about the immune system at the genetic level, and highlight environmental changes that impact our immunity. In this Teen Science Cafe, Alex Dornburg, the Museum’s Research Curator of Ichthyology, and Jeff Yoder, Associate Professor of Innate Immunology at NCSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine, will share their work exploring this complex system that strives to keep the body strong and healthy.
