Quantum computing! It’s a buzz phrase that’s all over the place, from social media to the news. Come learn about what it is (really good at solving big problems) and what it isn’t (a way to make your internet browsing faster). Our speaker will explain how we can use it to solve big problems in physics research and advance our understanding of the universe around us.

About our speaker

Dr. Lex Kemper is a physicist at NC State University. His research over the past few years has been on quantum materials — materials in which quantum properties play an important role, and that make our daily lives better in a variety of ways. Recently, he has become involved in quantum computing, and how it may be used in physics research.
