Come to this cafe to learn more about the day-to-day job of meteorologist Vernon Turner as he explains the complex science that goes into creating and explaining a weather forecast. Vernon will talk about the importance of disseminating complex information to a wide audience without losing the overall message.

About our speaker

Meteorologist Vernon Turner is a graduate of NC State University and has travelled to several states doing what he loves most. After spending several years in Alabama and Mississippi, he returned to his home state and joined Spectrum News in 2018 where many of you reading this may have seen him on TV! Vernon loves to contribute to his community and gives back by participating in school talks and communicating severe weather safety.
