SUMMARY:State of Change—A Screening and Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:PBS North Carolina\, NC Science Festival and The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences Proudly Present:\nState of Change—A Screening and Panel Discussion\nTwo ways to join us: online or in person at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences\nPlease join us in person (or virtually) on Thursday\, April 21\, at 7 PM\, for a special screening of State of Change\, followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A. \nClimate change is a large and\, at times\, hazy concept to wrap your mind around. Its effects are usually thought of as a coastal concern: sea level rise\, erosion\, ocean acidification and warming. But the more powerful storms\, droughts and other extreme weather associated with climate change have a dramatic impact on individuals and communities across our state. \nPBS NC’s State of Change initiative is a series of people-centered stories about how climate change affects North Carolinians and what they’re doing to adapt to it\, along with innovative responses to create a more resilient future. The digital shorts and broadcast episodes will share the personal stories of people affected by climate change\, delve into details about the science of the challenges and\, perhaps most importantly\, provide some optimism that solutions are within reach. \nFollowing the screening\, we invite you to participate in a panel discussion and audience Q&A with an esteemed group of local experts moderated by PBS North Carolina’s Frank Graff\, producer/host of Sci NC. Audience engagement is encouraged and you will be able to ask the panelist questions either in person or online\, via the chat feature. \nIN-PERSON Event Details \n\nDate and Time: Thursday\, April 21\, at 7 PM.
