  • 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Tonight’s Science Café will be held in the WRAL 3D Theater at 11 West Jones St.

The legalization of medical and recreational marijuana has effectively created a new industry that now rivals some of our largest businesses. In Colorado alone, sales revenues have exceeded $1 billion. Can this new federally unregulated industry impact air quality? Find out the answer to this and other questions while learning about the results of research conducted on the Colorado marijuana industry.

About our Speaker

Dr. William Vizuete is an associate professor at UNC-Chapel Hill in the department of environmental sciences and engineering in the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Vizuete teaches atmospheric chemistry and uses high-performance computing in his research to study the formation of air pollution.

Food and drinks

Food and drinks will be available for sale at the Mr. Cheesesteak food truck, which will be located in front of the Museum entrance from 5:30 to 7pm. (The Daily Planet Café is closed due to yesterday’s water main issues.)
