Science Cafe: Create Your Own Backyard Hen Habitat

  • Thursday, August 08, 2019
  • 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Science Café Series — Urban Agriculture

Join us to learn about the art of raising chickens. Owning backyard chickens could easily be in your future! In this Café, you will learn the best ways to easily manage the feeding, watering, cleanup, egg collection and other chicken issues in a way that will allow you to incorporate chickens into your urban lifestyle … even allowing for safely taking two-week vacations (without a chicken-sitter).

About our speaker

Frank Hyman is an author and DIY carpenter, metalworker and designer. He has had hands-on experience with a variety of both domestic and wild animals and currently focuses on the science of raising of backyard chickens. His writings include the Coop Builder and Chicken Feed Café columns for Chickens magazine. Because of its popularity, his new book, “Hentopia,” is now entering a second printing, having sold out the first 13,000 copies in only a month.
