DESCRIPTION:5:30pm–7pm: Live music and science stations.\n7pm: Movie begins in the WRAL 3D Theater\, followed by commentary and movie trivia. \nShrek (2001)\n“NO! Not the buttons! Not my gumdrop buttons!” \nJoin us for a fairy tale adventure unlike any other with our June 13th installment of Museum Movie Night.  When a green ogre named Shrek discovers his swamp has been ‘swamped’ with all sorts of fairytale creatures by the scheming Lord Farquaad\, Shrek sets out with a very loud donkey by his side to ‘persuade’ Farquaad to give Shrek his swamp back. Instead\, a deal is made. Farquaad\, who wants to become the King\, sends Shrek to rescue Princess Fiona\, who is awaiting her true love in a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon. But once they head back with Fiona\, it starts to become apparent that not only does Shrek\, an ugly ogre\, begin to fall in love with the lovely princess\, but Fiona is also hiding a huge secret. In addition to science activities and stations before the movie\, we’ll host an expert and movie trivia (with prizes) following the screening. Shrek (Mike Myers) goes on a quest to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) with the help of his loveable Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and win back the deed to his swamp from scheming Lord Farquaad. \nOUR SPEAKER\n\nCelia Lechtman is the Assistant Manager at the Walnut Creek Wetland Park\, a very special urban wetland preserve about 7 minutes from downtown Raleigh. She leads volunteer coordination and land management at the site. The majority of Celia’s background is in education\, from arts to agricultural to environmental\, and she loves working with curious and committed amateurs (like herself.) When she’s not knee deep in the mud\, she sings with the Raleigh Parks Department band\, cooks for potlucks\, goes to the movies\, and draws pictures. \n\nSCIENCE STATIONS (5:30–7PM)\nNature’s Dragons\nDragons don’t just roam the land of Far Far Away – we’ve got them right here! Come delve into the fantastic world of the scaly reptiles that call our world home. \n\nAnimal Grossology\nGet in touch with your inner swamp ogre! Take a closer look at the grossest\, murkiest\, and nastiest things you could find in places only an ogre could stomach. \n\nGingerbread Man Decorations\nYou can catch him! The Gingerbread Man!
