Lifelong Hike: Turnipseed Nature Preserve

Join us on a late winter hike in Turnipseed Nature Preserve, one of Wake County’s newest parks.  The 265-acre preserve near Wendell was opened to the public in 2017 and is designated as a significant natural area in the transitional area between the piedmont and coastal plain.

Registration deadline is two weeks prior to trip start date. Trips failing to reach the minimum registration numbers by the deadline date may be canceled. Please call to check on trip status if interested in registering after the deadline.

  • Fee: $8 per participant; $5 member participant.
  • Requirements: Minimum age 18.
  • Cancellation Notice: If the Museum cancels the program, the registrant will have the option of receiving (1) a credit toward a future Lifelong field program, or (2) a full refund*. If the registrant cancels their registration 7 days or more prior to the departure date, then a refund* (less $25 processing fee) or credit will be given. No refund or credit for reservations cancelled by the registrant less than 7 days before the departure date. *Registrants must submit a W9 form to receive a refund.
