Educator Trek: Tall Trees and Wonderful Waterfalls

  • 8:30am Tuesday, August 06, 2019 - 6:00pm Friday, August 09, 2019

Join us for a mountain adventure as we explore Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, one of few remaining old growth forests in NC. Explore mountain ecology and geology as we visit waterfalls, mountain streams, and high elevation balds. Participate in hands-on activities and take time to reflect through sketches and writing. Camp beside a mountain stream, enjoy meals in the fresh air, and end the evening around a campfire. Most camping gear is provided by the Museum for this workshop, and inexperienced campers are welcome!
