Educator Trek: Making Citizen Science Data Work for You

  • Saturday, April 08, 2017
  • 9:30am - 4:30pm

So you’ve collected data for a citizen science project. Now what? In this workshop, you will explore some of the many available online citizen science databases and put the information they contain to use answering scientific questions. Gain hands-on experience accessing, downloading, and using citizen science data to answer questions you generate yourself. This workshop will provide some simple lesson plans that you can adapt for use with your own students that incorporate technology, math, graphing, data analysis, and writing as well as a list of available databases and other resources that will help you develop your own lessons and programs using citizen science data.
