DESCRIPTION:New discoveries are made on a visit to the ornithology research collection \nLearn techniques used by museum curators to collect\, prepare\, and care for bird specimens in a research collection. Gain hands-on experience by preparing a bird spread wing. Explore the museum’s research collection of birds and discover options for developing a natural history collection for educational purposes. \nEligibility: This workshop is educators (includes teachers\, administrators\, pre-service or substitute teachers; non-formal educators; anyone working on their EE certification). \nCredit: 8 contact hours toward CEUs or Criteria III for North Carolina’s Environmental Education Certification Program  \nThis workshop is currently full. If the program you are trying to register for is sold out\, please sign up for the waiting list! \nThe full workshop fee is due when you register and payment is via credit card. Registration for most Educator Treks is on a first-come\, first-served basis. Treks fill quickly\, so register early! \n  \n
