This program is for rising 5th–8th graders and runs from 9:30am to 12:30pm each day for five days: August 5–9.
Dragonfly Detectives is an inquiry-based, science discovery program where students study dragonflies in the field and collect data to contribute to scientific research. Students will learn how to make hypotheses, collect data, analyze their results, and will have the opportunity to publicly present their findings. Participants will also learn about aquatic systems, animal migrations, dragonfly identification, careers in science—all while doing a variety of fun, educational, and hands-on activities. Each student will take home a toolkit so they can continue to study science and contribute to citizen science on their own!
*This class takes place entirely outdoors*
