Use a quadrat to explore tiny plants and animals of a small space in intimate detail. You may be surprised by how many things you can find! We’ll let you borrow a macro lens attachment for your phone so you can get some great shots of the things you see.
Meet in the Outdoor Classroom.
Unlike the other City Nature Challenge offerings, this program is limited to 20 people and requires pre-registration! Contact Lindsey Hubbard at Lindsey.firstname.lastname@example.org with the names of everyone in your group, and the ages of any participants under 18, to register.
Dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Bring a camera (your phone or any other camera you have, or plan to borrow one from us) and a water bottle. Come with iNaturalist pre-loaded on your phone if you are planning to use the smartphone app to make your observations.
This program is part of the City Nature Challenge: Triangle Area 2018. The City Nature Challenge is an international competition between urban areas to see who can document the most species on iNaturalist (an online wildlife observation platform) from April 27-30, 2018. Help the Triangle Area show off how amazing our biodiversity and citizen scientists are by photographing species you see and uploading them to iNaturalist!
