Basic Bird Identification Skill Building

  • Saturday, February 15, 2020
  • 9:30am - 11:30am

Mockingbird

Join us during the Great Backyard Bird Count to start building your bird ID skills! This program is best suited to beginning birders and will cover the basics of how to identify birds, including making observations, recognizing field markings, and using tools to help you determine which bird you’re looking at. We will go on a bird walk for the second half of the program.  We’ll provide binoculars and field guides to use during the program, but please bring your own binoculars if you wish to practice with them.

This program is for ages 10+ and requires preregistration through our online registration form.

Please come dressed for the weather as this program will be taught entirely outdoors.  Closed-toed shoes are required and long pants are recommended.  Have questions?  Email Chris Goforth for more information.
