SUMMARY:An Evening of NC Fishes and Book Signing
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Prairie Ridge to discover the fishes of North Carolina and celebrate the publication of A Guide to North Carolina’s Freshwater Fishes! We’ll have all 5 of the book’s authors available for a lively panel discussion followed by a book signing. Learn about the diverse fishes of our state\, ask your fish questions\, and discover the best ways to use the new guide in the field. \nFree tickets are available for anyone who wishes to bring their own copy of the book to the event. You may also purchase a book+lecture ticket and we will have your book waiting for you at the signing. A limited number of copies of the book will be available on site. Pre-registration is required to attend. Register online here. \nWe welcome ages 12+ to this program. Please come dressed for the weather as you’ll be in a covered\, outdoor space throughout. \nThis program is a part of the North Carolina Fish Frenzy\, a citizen science event by the Science Across NC collaborative (Prairie Ridge is a member!). Help us document fish at Prairie Ridge and beyond by photographing any wild fish statewide October 5-20\, then submit your photos to iNaturalist!
