Native to North Carolina, this warm-season, beneficial insect from the order Diptera has one of the widest digestive enzyme profiles, allowing for digestion of virtually all human food waste. Pre- and post-consumer. Cooked, raw or spoiled. These grubs will devour kitchen scraps without delay, leaving little residue behind. Diverting as much organic materials from the landfill as possible minimizes anaerobic decomposition, helping offset methane production and reducing impacts to the climate.
