Capital Area Visitor Services provides scheduling for groups of 10 or more who plan to visit government and cultural attractions in the capital city.
Group reservations are required by the following sites:
- North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and Nature Research Center
- Legislative Building
- Executive Mansion
- State Capitol
- North Carolina Museum of History
To schedule your group visit to Raleigh and the state government complex fill out this form. Visits must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance; however, earlier scheduling allows more flexibility, permits time for delivery of your written itinerary, and opens more options for your trip.
Groups who would like to include a visit to a fee-based Special Exhibit or 3D movie must first schedule their Museum visit through CAVS. After receiving a confirmation number, the group leader should then contact the Museum box office at 919.707.9950 to make reservations.
Groups with special needs can make arrangements for programs or tours tailored specifically to their needs. For more information, go to Special Populations.
Your Group Itinerary IS Important
Bring your assigned itinerary with you. You must follow your itinerary to avoid conflicts with other scheduled groups. All sites are carefully scheduled to receive a maximum but limited number of visitors in each time period. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your first tour, that tour may be cancelled or shortened in order to get you back on schedule. In many cases your tour guides will be volunteers and they are not required to wait more than 15 minutes past your scheduled tour time; therefore, if your arrival time changes, call Capital Area Visitor Services and let us know.
In the event of long delays, cancellations, or other changes to your plans, call and leave a voice mail for Capital Area Visitor Services at 919-807-7950 so that necessary adjustments and arrangements can be made.
