RAC Lecture: Unravelling Starlight: William and Margaret Huggins and the Rise of the New Astronomy

Science Talks Amateur astronomer William Huggins adapted the spectroscope to study of the celestial realm, and in November, 1862, presented a paper on the topic to the Royal Astronomical Society. Astronomy has never been the same since. Join science historian Barbara J. Becker for an exploration of Huggins's pioneering contributions to astrophysics, and learn about the collaborative contributions made by his wife, Margaret. 07/23/2015 - 7:00pm
