Summer Camp Scholarship Program
The Museum offers a limited number of partial scholarships for camp. Potential applicants do not need to register for the summer camp in which they are interested in. To apply for a scholarship, please submit the online Application for Partial Summer Camp Scholarship.
Please have the following information available:
• A short statement from the parent/guardian explaining extenuating circumstances and the money amount that you are able to contribute towards camp tuition.
• A short statement from the child explaining why he/she would like to attend the summer camp.
• A short written statement of the child’s interest in natural science by either the child’s teacher or a non-family member. Please email the statement to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scholarship applications must be received by Friday, February 6, 2015. All eligible applicants will be entered into a lottery drawing, and the selected scholarship recipients will be notified by Wednesday, February 11, 2015 by email. The family’s financial contribution will be due upon acceptance of scholarship and completion of the registration process.
Scholarships are available through the kindness of Friends of the Museum Members and donations from other private sources.
Summer Camp scholarships are made possible thanks to the support of the Biogen Idec Foundation.
This year the scholarships available for campers at Historic Yates Mill County Park were given by Kenner and Karen Swain in loving memory of their mother, Rheta H. Swain, a teacher of high school biology and ecology and nature camp counselor.
