StormFest
June 16, 2012
9am - 5pm
StormFest will give you the inside scoop on weather, natural disasters, and the emergency response services that are there when it is all taking place!
It’s Free!
Highlights
- Meet Meteorologists from local news stations (NBC 17, News 14, and WRAL) and pick their brains during our “Ask the Experts” Panels in the WRAL 3D Theater at 10:30am and 2pm.
- Free showings of Tornado Alley in 3D, back for one day only, sponsored by WRAL!
- Story Time- “Pink Snow and Other Weird Weather”, Windows of the World. Bring children of all ages to hear fun stories about weather gone weird and meet some live animals from the book (10am and 1pm)!
- Kids will also have a chance to “Ask the Experts” at the “Weather Why’s for Kids” talks from News 14’s Pati Darak and Joshua McKinney in the Daily Planet Theater (11:30am and 2:30pm)!
- Learn about why weather happens, how to predict it, participate in weather experiments with the National Weather Service, and find out how some animals are affected by weather at our “Animal Weather Lore” table!
- You will also be able to learn about how to prepare you and your family for when weather turns dangerous, and resources local governments have to help with storm response and recovery.
