A Star-crossed Lovers Valentine's Dinner
February is the month for lovers so what better way to spend Valentine’s Day than at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The Museum and Rocky Top Hospitality will host “A Star-Crossed Lovers Valentine’s Dinner: Love Stories from the Titanic” on Thursday, February 14 inside the Museum’s Nature Research Center, Daily Planet Café. Cocktail hour begins at 6pm featuring an array of Titanic-inspired drinks, such as the “Iceberg Martini,” “Night Sky,” and “St. Germaine & Champagne.” A three-course dinner follows at 7pm, with foods inspired by cuisine that would have been served on board the Titanic. The cost of the dinner is $50 per person. A ticket to see “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” is included in the price, to be used at a later date. The exhibit runs through Sunday, April 28. Specialty cocktails are not included in the ticket price and range from $9 to $12.
The Daily Planet Café will be transformed to create the ultimate First Class Passenger Dining Room experience and during the evening, guests can enjoy a performance featuring a narrative of some of the many love stories that emerged from the Titanic, as there were many couples and newlyweds on board the ship. Seating is limited. The Museum’s regularly scheduled Science Café will not be held that evening.
