I scream, you scream, we all scream for ... well, you know.  Ice cream is the quintessential summer time treat.  We know that ice cream is loved around the world, but what are the origins of this frozen delight?  How do we go from the cow to the cone?  Why do we love it so much and is there such a thing as healthy ice cream?  Come find out!

About our Speaker

Dr. Keith Harris is an Associate Professor of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences at NC State University.  He is an award-winning teacher of both undergraduate and graduate-level courses.  His research interests involve the health-related properties of plant foods. His specific area of research examines how processing affects the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of flavonoids and other potentially beneficial compounds in food.
