This camp for young outdoor explorers is just the ticket to discovery of the plants and animals that love the waters of Yates Mill Pond. During this week of camp based at Yates Mill Pond, campers will find, touch, identify, and learn about lots of interesting organisms in and around the water- from turtles to tadpoles! We’ll get to meet live animals, design experiments and play water games, in addition to touring the historic Mill on-site as we discover why running water was important to early rural life in Wake County.

Yates Mill Pond is located south of Raleigh near Penny Road and Lake Wheeler Road. All children must be dropped off and picked up at Yates Mill Pond County Park. Transportation is not available from the Museum to Yates Mill Pond.

Registration information: Registration required. Please visit the Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
