About the speaker

Dr. Edwin Scholes, III, is an evolutionary biologist at Cornell University. He collaborated with Tim Laman of National Geographic on the Birds-of-Paradise Project, an effort to find and document every single bird-of-paradise species. After eight years and 18 expeditions they have amassed photographic and video coverage of all 39 known species, and documented several new behaviors, featured in the Museum’s current exhibition, Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution.
