About our Experts:

Steve Turner is the Curator of the Naturalist Center at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Previously he worked in the Natural History Museum, London studying Tarantulas. He is most interested in spider and insect biodiversity.

Eric Butler is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Shaw University.  Eric is primarily interested in the interactions between predators and prey.  Most of his work focuses on grasshoppers as a prey species but he has recently begun to investigate the predator side of this dynamic focusing on spiders.
