Love being outdoors? This camp offers a true field experience as young scientists investigate the diversity of plants and animals living within the Raleigh city limits. Sharpen your observation skills as a citizen scientist by identify dragonflies by the pond or helping record biodiversity on the prairie. We will take our new skills on the road for an overnight camping trip at Hanging Rock State Park, go tubing down the Dan River, and leave with a deeper appreciation and understanding for North Carolina’s natural world.

Prairie Ridge Ecostation is a satellite of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences; located off Reedy Creek Road, close to Blue Ridge Road and the NC Museum of Art.  All children must be dropped off and picked up at Prairie Ridge Ecostation.  No transportation is available between the Museum and Prairie Ridge Ecostation.
