Thanks to the Internet, becoming a citizen scientist and making a real, meaningful contribution to science is easier than ever!  In this program, we’ll teach you how to use iNaturalist to record observations about nature that are incredibly useful to a wide range of scientists.  By simply snapping a few photos of interesting natural things you see in your everyday life and uploading them online (or on your smartphone!), you can make YOUR observations available to scientists around the world.  You can also help the Museum document all the plants, animals, and fungi in our great state as a participant in our new citizen science project, Natural North Carolina.  We’ll give you all the information you’ll need to get started and make an important contribution to science with this easy-to-use tool.  Bring a camera or a smartphone if you have one and dress for the weather — this program will be conducted entirely outdoors!  Contact Chris Goforth at chris.goforth@naturalsciences.org or 919.707.8882 for information or to register.
