Newly emerged from the “museum vault”, we’re excited to dust off this traditional camp and offer it again to our budding young herpetologists! If you love amphibians and reptiles then this camp is for you! Campers will learn distinguishing features for groups of amphibians and reptiles as well as field identification, capture techniques, captive care, life cycles, and conservation. This camp includes an overnight fieldtrip on Thursday night, and numerous other day trips during the rest of the week. This camp will meet at Yates Mill Pond County Park. *Some day trips may require earlier drop-off or later pick-up times.
Yates Mill Pond County Park is located south of Raleigh near Penny Road and Lake Wheeler Road. All children must be dropped off and picked up at Yates Mill Pond County Park. Transportation is not available from the Museum to Yates Mill Pond.
Registration information: Registration required. Please visit the Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
