Exhibit Premiere and Reception for "Our Expanding Oceans"
Our Expanding Oceans features more than 50 hand-dyed silk batiks, each inspired by aerial and satellite imagery as well as conceptual perspectives of our environment, and permeated with color to produce stunning visual effects. Developed as a comprehensive exhibit by artist Mary Edna Fraser and scientist Orrin Pilkey in conjunction with the Museum of Natural Sciences, the collection explores major elements of global climate change, from melting ice sheets to rising seas.
