$75 (includes lodging, some meals, and starter kit of materials)

Hands-on, outdoor field experiences with birds, ladybugs, biodiversity, and more will provide you with the necessary tools for incorporating citizen science into your teaching. Citizen science has become a valuable educational tool for science and the natural world and offers excellent opportunities for your students to collect data for real scientific research projects. This workshop is designed to prepare you to with a solid understanding of Citizen Science and to help you choose a project or two to add to your individual teaching toolbox.

Participants receive a certificate for CEUs and credit for North Carolina's Environmental Education Certification Program.

 Educator Trek Registration Form (PDF) – Complete, print and mail this form to register for Educator Treks. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email and/or mailed receipt. Workshop details will be sent via email one to two weeks prior to the workshop.

*This program is restricted to educators: classroom teachers and assistants (any grade/subject), administrators, pre-service or substitute teachers; non-formal educators such as park and nature center staff & volunteers; anyone working on their NC Environmental Education certification.
