$35 (includes specimen preparation kit)

Learn techniques used by museum curators to collect, prepare, and care for bird specimens in a research collection. Get hands-on experience by preparing bird parts (including spread wings and tails) for the museum. Explore the museum’s vast research collection of birds and discover options for developing a natural history collection for educational purposes.

This workshop is designed for environmental educators (i.e. park and nature center employees), however other educators are welcome to attend!

Get credit!

Participants receive a certificate for CEUs and credit for North Carolina's Environmental Education Certification Program.

 Educator Trek Registration Form (PDF) – Complete, print and mail this form to register for Educator Treks. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email and/or mailed receipt. Workshop details will be sent via email one to two weeks prior to the workshop.

*This program is restricted to educators: classroom teachers and assistants (any grade/subject), administrators, pre-service or substitute teachers; non-formal educators such as park and nature center staff & volunteers; anyone working on their NC Environmental Education certification.
