$25 deposit (Deposit will be returned upon completion of the workshop. Please send separate check if registering for multiple workshops.)

This workshop will introduce a powerful spatial mapping tool known as GIS, or “Geographic Information Systems.” Participants will learn map interpretation, geospatial data collection and basic GIS techniques through field sampling and analysis of real data. We will also explore the numerous free GIS resources available to educators for implementation across multiple disciplines.

Participants receive a certificate for CEUs and credit for North Carolina's Environmental Education Certification Program.

 Educator Trek Registration Form (PDF) – Complete, print and mail this form to register for Educator Treks. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email and/or mailed receipt. Workshop details will be sent via email one to two weeks prior to the workshop.

*This program is restricted to educators: classroom teachers and assistants (any grade/subject), administrators, pre-service or substitute teachers; non-formal educators such as park and nature center staff & volunteers; anyone working on their NC Environmental Education certification.
