Learn more about these squirrel chasers in the skyscrapers! Stop by a Downtown Hawks event near the State Capitol along Edenton Street to see the nesting activity.

Learn about urban hawks and get a close-up view through spotting scopes. Afterwards, enjoy the Museum of Natural Sciences, open Thursdays til 9pm.

Red-tailed hawks:

  • Have wingspans up to 4½ feet.
  • Help manage urban populations of rats, squirrels and pigeons.
  • Need healthy green spaces to live in urban places.
