Join us as we explore Prairie Ridge’s freshwater habitats and the insects that call our pond and stream home. Along the way, you’ll learn how to scoop insects from the pond and identify some of the major groups of insects. You’ll also become a citizen scientist as you collect habitat and insect data for one of the museum’s citizen sciences projects! Dress for the weather, and wear rubber boots if you have them. Contact Chris Goforth at 919.707.8882 or chris.goforth@naturalsciences.org for more information or to register.

Note: a companion program on aquatic insect identification will be offered for ages 12+ the same day from 10:30-12:00 in the Natural World Investigate Lab at the Nature Research Center. You may attend Denizens of the Deep without attending Aquatic Insect Identification downtown, but the programs are designed to work with one another for a richer, more complete experience. Contact Chris for more information.
