From flies to humans and every animal in between, brains make behavior happen. Come explore this at a special brains- and behavior-themed Science Cafe on March 13! From 6–7pm and 8–8:30pm, meet local neuroscientists and interact with hands-on brains and behavior exhibits suitable for all ages. Celebrate national Brain Awareness Week (March 10-16) and learn what local neuroscientists are discovering. At 7 pm, our special guest, prominent neuroscientist Larry Swanson from the University of Southern California will lead a Science Cafe on emotion, cognition, and the brain.
In April, 2013, President Obama announced a bold and inspirational initiative to map the human brain to cure Alzheimer’s disease and other devastating mental health problems. Join us to discuss the thinking behind this initiative and why it is so timely.
