Solve the Mystery!
Scenario: A hawk researcher, investigating the recent exodus of hundreds of starving birds from their usual desert habitat, uncovers an even bigger crisis looming. His discovery and the efforts of a Park Service Ranger are all that stand between them and a possible ecological disaster. Two vital questions must be answered to prevent this.
As part of the Museum's Science Thursday programming, family teams will test their investigative skills as they follow in the ranger’s footsteps. Collecting clues from the Investigate Labs and the Naturalist Center, teams will put together pieces of the mystery. If your family can solve the mystery, you might just save the lives of hundreds of animals, and possibly even a human or two along the way.
Each family team will receive a small token at the end of the evening to honor their participation in the event.
Is there a limit to the number of people on a family team? Yes, teams should include no more than 6 people.
Are there age restrictions? All ages of family members are welcome; however, each team must include someone 18 or older.
What constitutes a family? Team members should be a family in spirit if not by DNA or legal documentation. This event is for families and family-like teams only.
Can my scout troop participate? This event is not designed for organized groups.
How do I register? Fill out online, print and mail the Museum’s Registration Form with payment. Registration must be received by January 31st. This event is limited to the first 20 family teams who register. The fee is $10 per team of six, and registration is required. Confirmation and event details will be emailed prior to the event.
