Public Hours

The Naturalist Center is on the second floor of the Nature Research Center

Sunday–Monday, 1–4 pm
Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am–4 pm
Now open late Thursday evenings from 5:30-8:30 pm, with special guests! See naturalsciences.org/sciencethursdays [2] for more information.

Ages: 8 years and up, with 8- to 11-year-olds accompanied by an adult
Room capacity: 35

The Naturalist Center provides visitors access to an extensive collection of specimens for individual or class research or for general interest. Collections include birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fishes, insects, plants, fossils, rocks, minerals and more. Reference books, computers, CD-ROMs, microscopes and other lab equipment is available. Watch audio and video of certain specimens at one of two interactive tabletops. Staff can provide assistance with self-directed exploration in the Naturalist Center.
