Research Interests

Continuing to explore and document the mammalian diversity of the region, focusing on current distribution patterns and trends, will receive much attention for the foreseeable future. Particular attention will be paid to the distribution of Appalachian endemics where they reach the southern extent of their ranges in western North Carolina. The accumulation of mercury in bats is another major area of focus.
