Green-Breasted Mango Hummingbird [1]

(Anthracothorax prevostii)

Note the striking, broad, blackish-green stripe on the underparts, with white borders. This bird also shows some strong cinnamon patches, indicating it is an immature.
Photos: Wayne Irvin

This species is found from eastern Mexico to northern South America. Susan Campbell banded this immature male, which appeared at a feeder in Concord in November 2000. It was the first recorded sighting of this species in the United States outside of Texas.
